Nashville Country
This will be the fifth in a series of seven concerts featuring American songs that celebrate different regions of our country. We will welcome Country Wild Heart, a Rhode Island country music group who will help us celebrate the music of the "border" States (Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee -- a musically unique part of America located between the South and Midwest, famous for Bluegrass and especially country music, with Nashville's claim to be the Country Capital of America. Entitled "Nashville Country," the concert will celebrate both the region and the style of music -- as we once more celebrate the music of an American region, looking forward to America's 250th birthday next year.

Keeping with our region-celebrating tradition, Country Wild Heart will indeed sing such songs as "Country Road," the "Tennessee Waltz," "Tennessee Whisky" (arguably a temperance song!), and "My Old Kentucky Home" (explicitly celebrating these states), but the concert focus will be country music in celebration of Nashville -- including the songs of such great performers as Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Featured will be pieces like The Devil Went Down to Georgia," "Thank God I'm a Country Boy," , "Jackson," "Little White Church," "Chicken Fried," and many more.

We will welcome Nancy Paolino, Band Leader and lead female vocalist; Matthew Kearns , guitarist and lead male vocalist; Kevin Vidmar, fiddle (a Music at the Meeting House veteran from last spring); Don Payne, bass; and Rick Andre on drums.

An Old English Christmas
We will open the Christmas season with our annual Christmas Concert, this year entitled, "An Old English Christmas." This inspiring program, last performed six years ago, will feature Christmas hymns and carols from England. We will welcome back Grace Norton, Amanda Santo, Arielle Rogers Wilkey, Jason Shealy, and Glenn Zienowicz, accompanied by Marie Kane on the piano and Klancy Martin on trumpet. Bell ringers from Greenville Baptist will be led by Elizabeth Gates. Marilyn Knight on the pipe organ accompany the audience singing Christmas hymns. Pastor Ethel Corbin will read the Christmas Story from scripture. It will be a wonderful afternoon to celebrate Advent and launch the Christmas season!
