We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you will have an enjoyable fall filled with blue skies and lots of glorious foliage—if the rain ceases and the hurricanes miss us!

We wish to invite you to this fall's MUSIC AT THE MEETING HOUSE concert series of three programs, which will take place at the Chepachet Meeting House, home to the Chepachet Baptist Church, 1213 Putnam Pike, (Route 44), Chepachet RI, just west of the village rotary.

There should be adequate parking in the field adjacent to the church, with handicap parking near the  church building and a handicap ramp in the back of the church on the left side as you face it from the front.

Note: Unless required in the meantime by the state, there will be no COVID restrictions on attendance; but if you have not been vaccinated or boosted or are experiencing respiratory symptoms, we would strongly urge you to wear a mask to protect yourself and especially those who sit near you.

Our concerts are open to the public without charge, but, true to our tradition, a free will offering will be taken for those who wish to make a contribution. Refreshments will be served at the end of the concert in the church vestry, and there will be a chance to meet the performers.

Celtic Tunes & Songs
Music at the Meeting House will open its thirty-fourth year with a concert by Stanley & Grimm entitled "Celtic Tunes and Songs," featuring Cape Cod's Nikki Engstrom and Sean Brennan as they present a celebration of traditional Celtic music with old and new interpretations of jigs, reels, and other songs (some they wrote themselves) presented with lively fiddle, guitar, and voice. The Celtic Radio Network describes their music as "emotionally stirring, exhilarating, perfectly splendid." The infectious fun they have on stage and their intense playing have helped them to become favorites in the New England traditional music scene. Nikki's virtuoso fiddle playing and Sean's warm vocals and rhythmic guitar capture the essence and energy of great traditional Celtic music. You will love this concert!

Silent Night, Joyful Night: The Christmas Carols of Northern Europe
We will open the Christmas season with our annual Christmas Concert, this year entitled, "Silent Night, Joyful night: the Christmas Carols of Northern Europe" -- the third of four special annual regional Christmas presentations that we traditionally rotate. Northern Europe (including Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Low Countries and northern France, Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, and Ukraine are rich sources of Christmas music, some very familiar (e.g., Silent Night, O Holy Night, Once in Royal David's City), and some less familiar, but still very beautiful. Joining us will be vocalists Grace Norton, Amanda Santo, Arielle Rogers, and Jason Shealy — all of whom are very familiar to (and much acclaimed by) Music at the Meeting House audiences. Klancy Martin on trumpet, Marie Kane on piano, and Marilyn Knight on pipe organ will be among our other performers. We might have bell-ringers! True to our tradition, we will hear the familiar Christmas Story as told by Luke and Matthew. It will be a wonderful afternoon to celebrate Advent and launch the Christmas season!
