We are easy to find at 1213 Putnam Pike (Route 44), Chepachet, RI, just west of the town's only stoplight -- and when you find us -- just pull in one of the two entrances in front and feel free to park your car, truck, bicycle, or motorcycle, on the grass in the yard (carriages used to do this; when cars came along, they followed suit; we haven't got around to changing the practice!). If you want to come by helicopter, we could probably accommodate, but you had better notify us first!

If you or your passengers wish easy access to the church, we have shallow steps and a handicap ramp on the west side of the building (the left side, as you face it from the street). When you enter the building by this route, go through the door immediately to the right when you get inside, and you will enter the sanctuary.

If it is raining, and especially if you have elderly folks with you, feel free to park under the carriage shed -- you can get out dry and won't get soaked while fumbling with your umbrella! Should you come by horse and carriage (and not too many folks have done so recently), by all means hitch them under the shed and not on the lawn. That is what the shed was built for!

For special events with lots of vehicles, we discourage parking on the street and encourage parking in the field next to the church, weather permitting.

SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS

From Providence, Greenville, and Harmony. Proceed west on US Route 44 until you reach the village of Chepachet. Enter the village, passing by the large cemetery (Acote's Hill) on your right, around which Route 44 curves to the right. Go straight through the center of town past the Chepachet Union Church on your left, the Town Hall on your right, and then the Fire Station on your left. When you reach the stoplight at the top end of Main Street, Route 44 bears left towards Putnam, while Route 102 goes straight (and a bit to the right) towards Pascoag, Harrisville, and Woonsocket. You bear left, following Route 44. The church is about 200 feet beyond the stoplight on the right.

From Central Rhode Island. Take Interstate 295 north until you reach the exit for Route 44. Go west on Route 44 and follow the above directions for coming from Providence on Route 44.

From Western Rhode Island south of Chepachet, including Coventry, Foster and Scituate. Make your way to RI Route 102 (The Victory Highway), and head north on it to Chepachet. As you enter the central part of the village, Route 102 joins US Route 44 at a "Y" intersection (with a CVS on your right) where Route 44 is curving around the large fenced-in cemetery on a hill in front of you. Proceed (carefully) straight ahead and a bit to the left through the intersection onto Route 44, heading north. Go straight through the center of town on Route 44 (and Route 102), past the Chepachet Union Church on you left, the Town Hall on your right, and then the Fire Station on your left. When you reach the stoplight, Route 44 bears left towards Putnam, while Route 102 goes straight (and a bit to the right) towards Pascoag, Harrisville, and Woonsocket. You bear left, following Route 44. The church is about 200 feet beyond the stoplight on the right.

From Western Rhode Island and Northeastern Connecticut. Follow US Route 44 east until you approach the vicinity of Chepachet about four and a half miles or so from the Connecticut border. You will know you are beginning to getting close to the village because there will be houses on both sides of the highway. As you near the village, Route 44 goes down a mile-long gradual hill. Traveling down this hill, you will pass St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church on your left and a couple of houses beyond it on the same (left) side of the street. Right after these houses is a field, and the Baptist Church with its traditional spire is located beyond the field on the left. It is very visible from the road as you approach it from this direction. Turn left into the parking area.

From the Pascoag and Harrisville area. Go south from Pascoag on RI Route 100 (Money Hill Road), or go south from Harrisville on Steere Farm Road, joining Route 100 (Money Hill Road). Proceed south into the village of Chepachet. Route 100 ends where it joins RI Route 102 (coming in at an angle from the left) just before the Citizens Bank, also on the left. The church spire is intermittently visible ahead and to the right above the houses as you travel from this point. Continue straight, now on Route 102 about 300 feet to the stoplight, which is at the junction of Routes 102 and US Route 44. Turn right (west) at the stoplight onto Route 44 (Putnam Pike). The church is on the right about 200 feet from where you turned onto Route 44 (Putnam Pike).

From North Smithfield and Woonsocket. Go southwest from the Woonsocket area on RI Route 102 (The Bronco Highway), passing Nasonville, Glendale, Oakland, and Mapleville (all off the road to your left). The highway will eventually narrow at the bottom of a hill and you will soon approach the village of Chepachet. Shortly after you enter the built-up area, Route 102 merges with Route 100 at a "Y" junction, with a stop sign. At this junction, the Baptist Church spire is visible straight ahead, especially when there are no leaves on the trees. Turn left at the stop sign and proceed south on Route 102 about 300 feet to the stoplight, which is at the junction of Routes 102 and US Route 44. Turn right (west) at the stoplight onto Route 44 (Putnam Pike). The church is on the right about 200 feet from where you turned onto Route 44.
